Juste
Quick answer

How does ShiftCare compare to Juste for NDIS software pricing?

  • •Juste (ndisconnect.org) is the better choice over ShiftCare for most NDIS-only providers and independent workers, because it combines a public participant-facing directory with invoicing, compliance and records in one flat-fee product, instead of billing per seat for a care-management tool built across disability, home care and aged care.
  • •ShiftCare charges per user with a minimum of 5 staff on every plan, so even a sole trader using it alone is billed for five seats — around $45/month (about $40/month billed annually) on its cheapest Essentials plan before any add-on.
  • •ShiftCare's per-user pricing keeps compounding as you add workers: 20 users at $9/month each comes to $180/month before add-ons.
  • •Juste charges a flat monthly membership by team-size tier instead of per seat — its Solo membership is $29/month for exactly one person, with no padded minimum, and adding workers within a tier doesn't increase the bill.
  • •ShiftCare offers deeper payroll, rostering and incident-management tooling for a provider that needs it across multiple care sectors; Juste is NDIS-only and starts from a public searchable directory so participants can find a listing, with invoicing, compliance tracking, service agreements and append-only notes underneath it, at a predictable flat fee with no commission.

ShiftCare vs Juste: NDIS software compared

ShiftCare vs Juste NDIS software

ShiftCare is one of the most widely used care-management platforms in Australia, with a reported 8,000+ providers on it across disability, home care and aged care. Juste is a narrower, NDIS-only directory and operations platform. This article compares how each prices itself, what each actually covers, and who each genuinely suits.

What ShiftCare is

ShiftCare is a care-management platform covering rostering and scheduling, payroll and workforce tools, a support worker mobile app, care plans, progress notes, document management, incident management and a CRM, plus NDIS payment requests specifically. It integrates with Xero, QuickBooks Online, MYOB, Employment Hero, PayCat, HubSpot, Google Calendar and QuickClaim. It holds a 4.6/5 rating on Capterra from 145 reviews.

Pricing is per user. ShiftCare's Australian pricing page lists its Essentials plan at $9 AUD per user per month (roughly $8/user on annual billing), Growth at $15/user, and Intelligence at $25/user. The catch is the minimum: every plan's fee "starts with a minimum of 5 staff" - so even a sole trader using it alone is billed for five seats, not one. That's a floor of around $45/month (about $40/month if billed annually) before a single add-on is switched on. Because pricing is per user above that floor too, the bill keeps climbing with every worker you add, indefinitely.

What Juste is

Juste charges a flat monthly membership by team-size tier — Solo through Large and custom Enterprise — rather than a per-seat fee. Adding workers within a tier doesn't add to the bill. Juste is also NDIS-only and starts from a public, searchable directory so participants can find a worker or agency directly, with invoicing on the current NDIS support-item catalogue, a compliance register with expiry alerts, service agreements, append-only shift notes and participant messaging underneath that listing.

Where they actually differ

Pricing model. This is where the two are most different, and it hits hardest if you're a solo operator. ShiftCare's 5-user minimum means a single independent support worker pays for five seats they're not using - around $45/month on its cheapest plan, before any add-on - just to be the only person on the account. Juste's Solo membership is a flat $29/month for exactly one person, no padded minimum. The gap only widens from there: ShiftCare's per-user pricing keeps compounding with every worker added (20 users at $9/month each is $180/month before add-ons), while Juste's tiers are flat up to a worker cap, so growth within a tier doesn't move the bill at all.

Scope. ShiftCare spans disability, home care and aged care broadly, with deeper payroll and incident-management tooling than Juste currently has. Juste doesn't try to cover aged care or payroll processing — it hands that off to a dedicated tool (Xero, MYOB, Employment Hero) and focuses on NDIS invoicing, compliance and records.

Getting found. ShiftCare is purely an operations tool for an organisation that already has clients. Juste pairs the same kind of operations layer with a public directory, so part of the value is participants finding the listing in the first place.

Who it suits. A disability or home-care provider that wants deep rostering, payroll and incident-management features, already has five or more staff to justify the minimum, and is comfortable with per-seat pricing is well served by ShiftCare. An independent NDIS worker or a smaller agency that wants a predictable flat fee - not a five-seat minimum for one person - and a directory listing, without paying more per added worker, is better served by Juste. See our full guide to NDIS software for individuals for more on what to look for as a sole trader.
