NDIS Worker Screening by state: what independent support workers need to know
The NDIS Worker Screening Check is a national requirement, but it isn't administered nationally. Every state and territory runs its own screening unit, with its own application portal and its own fee - so where you actually apply depends entirely on where you're based, not on the NDIS Commission directly.
Once issued, a clearance is valid for five years and sits in the NDIS Worker Screening Database, where any registered employer, plan manager or auditor can verify it using your Employer ID - regardless of which state issued it. Here's where to actually apply, state by state.
